Sewing
Yesterday was pouring and generally foul - there was meant to be a big typhoon on the way, but somehow it never really happened, we just got the rain. Anyway, it was a perfect day to stay inside and potter, so I made a top with the fabric I got from Yuzawaya on Monday and a pattern from this book.
I was happy because it was really quick to make and easy - just took a couple of hours, the only fiddly bit was the bias tape around the sleeves and neck. I might make another one, because there were so many nice Liberty prints in the shop and it took me forever to choose which one to use - I liked this one because it's kind of a floral without being too flowery.
The other day I also finished The First Thing I've Ever Knitted And Not Unpicked - a scarf that I started ages ago. It had been almost finished for weeks, but I needed to buy a wool needle to weave the ends in. I won't get to wear it until autumn, but I quite like it - it's really simple but the bumpy wool makes it a bit more interesting and hides the wonky bits in the stitches. Now I need to work out what to do for my next project - I'm kind of sick of knitting rectangles. Could try a hat, but even the thought of a beanie in this weather makes me hot. Any suggestions?

Wow, beautiful fabric and model!

Your projects are very cute! I especially love the top you made- and from a Japanese pattern book! I will be in Japan this summer (wandering from Tokyo to Osaka and back), so are there any fabric stores you recommend I visit?
