new top
Here's another top made from Built By Wendy Simplicity 3835,
View C. I made it in a cotton print that has been languishing in my
fabric stash since I bought it from Spotlight a few months ago. I have real trouble choosing prints for clothes - I gravitate towards patterns, because they're what I like for crafting, but most of my clothes are quite plain, so the ones I make turn out more lurid than I'd like. This fabric, for example, struck me as quite Orla Kiely-esque on the roll, but now it's made up it seems a bit bright. It's probably not what I would have bought from a shop, but it is extremely comfortable - the cotton is really fine and soft - so I think it will be getting some wear. And since my tops seem to last 2 hours max before Ali throws up on them it's quantity not quality that's important anyway.
I made a longer version of this pattern as a beach dress for my sister - it's a combination of views B & C. It turned out well, so I might do one for myself too. But first I need more tops.
(I haven't bought any clothes since I signed up for Wardrobe Refashion at the start of December, and so far am not missing it at all. Perhaps this means I had too many clothes to start with?)
it's hard isnt when it looks great on the roll and after all that work your not 100% happy! it looks great!and as long as its comfy your set!

The top looks great on you, and I love the print (and I'm really impressed by your ability to find such great fabric at that shop- I can't see past the constant mess to find anything worthwhile when I'm in there!). I have a similar problem with wearing prints, but I'm trying to introduce a few prints into my wardrobe at the moment. After all, patterns and prints are perfect for camouflaging those spits..!!
