top stitching in action

New_pants_mosaic_2
The top stitching photo from the last post was a close up of these pants - pattern M from this book again. Made up in a soft browny/grey Japanese cotton I bought at Tomato before we left Japan. The red top stitching is down the side seams and around the hem.  Nice and simple and soft and crawling-friendly.

Oh lovely pants, must check out that book. I know exactly what you mean about the sewing, I'm completely self taught and wish I had much more technical skill - your top stitching is beautiful, thanks for the links!

here here on the lovely pants and what a gorgeous model!! despite my mother being a dressmaker and my grandmother, i have taught myself the majoritity of what i know, from trial and error, unpicking or making a second time or from observation. i was too stubborn to be taught. if you see a vintage singer sewing how to book like in my flickr stream, it is worth the investment...

Great pants and very cute pictures!

I thought they might be- they look great! Perfect for adventuring in..

the trousers look fab. and all my colleagues think that Ali is very cute. looks like you're really enjoying yourself!! that's really good! keep up the good work re taking all the lovely pics - think one of these days you should do an exhibition. xx
