There's a $2 shop in Burwood that sells this sort of stuff - everything imported from Japan, everything $2.50 or $2.80 (can't remember exactly). I guess it's a copy of this chain.

Hi Leslie,
I think there are a couple in (or near) Melbourne - Abbotsford and Doncaster? http://www.daisostore.com.au/
But if you make it up to Sydney let me know :)

I love these sorts of items and may very well move to Japan for the sole purpose of being surrounded by such kawaii-ness!! But until then, I'm a North-American in Sydney for the week and I thought I'd ask if you know of any other stores selling similar merchandise that are more centrally located??? Infinite thanks!

Hi Laura, there's a Japanese supermarket next door to Gaffa http://www.gaffa.com.au/ in Clarence St that has similar Japanese things upstairs. The range is not as big as Daiso but it's worth a look. And Gaffa is nice to look at too, they have lovely handmade things and a good coffee shop. I hope you enjoy your time in Sydney.
