It always makes me feel productive to put pictures of most of the things I made this year in a mosaic. Looking back, there were quite a few garments and quilts, not much knitting, and a few other bits and pieces.
My favourite finished objects would be the denim Moss skirt for me (I wear this all the time, and really need to make another), A's quilt, the Advent calendar (both of these because I had been intending to make them for so long), the tooth fairy pillow and the School Photo dress I made for M.
Next year I'm hoping to do some more dressmaking for me; I've found a few patterns that suit me and I think I have a better idea of the kind of clothes that I actually wear, so hopefully I can get some finished. I seem to spend a lot more time thinking about the clothes I want to sew myself and amassing fabric for them than actually sewing.
I want to do some more knitting - there's a pile of yarn in the spare room that I should either use or destash, it's been neglected this year in favour of sewing and reading. I want to make a single bed quilt for M, and a queen size for our bed. And early in the year I need to make some durable play clothes, a back pack and sheet set for M to take to her new preschool.
But for now it's time to pack away the sewing machine for a week or so and spend some with family and friends, eat mangos and go swimming. I hope the rest of your 2013 is happy and relaxing, and I'll be back here in the new year!
