Sometimes it's the simplest sewing projects that make me happiest. This was one of them - I needed a sheet bag for nap time at Milla's preschool, and decided it was the perfect way to use up a slightly random 50cm of Liberty lawn I'd been hanging on to. I'd never been able to imagine it made up as clothing (which is what I usually use Liberty for) and it seemed a shame that it was languishing in the fabric stash, but a draw string bag that will be used all the time is a good way to make use of it. I embroidered the name on white cotton (I just traced a simple font I'd printed on the computer), and then improvised a bag with double drawstrings, french seams and a boxed bottom. Hopefully it's made sturdily enough that it will last beyond preschool, but for now it's doing a good job of keeping her sheets tidy.
