The school holidays are over, and we're back to school and preschool and work and study. I was slightly sad to send the children off this year - we had a really nice time together in January, with lots of trips to the beach, and museums and into the city. They've reached an age where it is suddenly so much easier to go on adventures together, and we had a lot of fun.
One project Ali and I worked on together at home during the holidays was this pencil case. He raided my huge bag of scraps and found some pieces he liked, and then we designed a pencil case together and I sewed it. He had a very clear idea of where he wanted everything to go, and on the inside there are elastic loops for pencils and a pocket as per his specifications.
He took it to school with him last week and says it is working out well so far. It was fun to work on making something together and I am always very happy to use up scraps!
